Subtle but sparkly. The beads are not the size of my thumb like I pictured but that's fine because I can wear this all year long and not just to a Christmas or holiday party. It's got Christmas vibes but also those protection vibes that holly represents. The 18" chain was long enough for my bigger than average neck and frame. I got the antique brass one and love it. I will be wearing it through the year, for faire especially at Michigan, and during holiday seasons. Great quality. The clasp is big and easy to manipulate.
